December 9, 2008

Djole Dance and Drum Company of North Charleston, South Carolina, will travel to New York City on December 19, 2008 to join a dance company from Rwanda called MIZERO Children. MIZERO Children of Rwanda have been invited to perform at the UN as part of their FORGIVENESS TOUR. Djole will join them in support of their performance and to interact and have a cultural exchange related to the United States and Ghana. These young orphans and vulnerable children from the beautiful country of Rwanda in east Africa between the ages of 11 to 18 years of age will delight and inspire their audiences in song, drumming and dancing! They arrive in the U.S. this month as young cultural and peace ambassadors to take audiences on a journey into the lives of the Rwandan people through music, dance, costumes and drumming. They are known as the MIZERO Children of Rwanda which in Kinyarwanda, the language of their home land, means HOPE. Seven youth from Djole will join MIZERO. Djole is very excited about the joining of the two families to spread the messages of Unity, Hope, Forgiveness, and Reconciliation.
