Gethsemani Circle of Friends is a nonprofit organization located in North Charleston, South Carolina whose mission is to positively impact children, families and senior citizens by providing quality programs that enhance education, health, and well-being. Circle of Friends projects typically are conducted out of Gethsemani Community Center in the Union Heights neighborhood as a support to North Charleston Recreation Department activities. These projects are primarily geared toward education and health and well-being of children in a high risk neighborhood and are an extension of the Neighborhood Project previously conducted by Family Services Research Center and the Union Heights neighborhood working in concert. Gethsemani Circle of Friends is the parent organization for Djole Dance and Drum Company, a children's West African dance and drumming company that has joined with Nkabom to conduct AIDS work.
